Since the reopening of Adare Manor last November after an extensive restoration, refurbishment and expansion programme, a number of prestigious wine Houses and Estates from around the world have expressed a desire to come together with Adare Manor to create a Unique Dining Evening like no other.

Krug Champagne was founded by Joseph Krug in 1843 and is based principally in Reims, the main city in France’s Champagne region.  Krug has claimed the top position as ‘The Most Popular Sparkling Wine’ by the well-respected Wine & Spirits Magazine.  Krug is the only House to create only prestige Champagnes every year since 1843, which offers timeless and unexpected pleasure experiences.

The Private Dining Evening will commence with a Private Reception in The Cellar at Adare Manor, with Krug Champagne and Canapes.  This will be followed by a four-course Private Dining experience in The Library, by Adare Manor’s Head Chef Michael Tweedie. Formerly of two Michelin-starred restaurants, Michael Tweedie was recently recognized as one of the 10 best chefs in Ireland and the UK by the S. Pellegrino Young Chef 2018 competition.  Each course will be complemented with a specially chosen Krug Champagne.  Ms. Dupouy will introduce each Champagne to the group.  The bottles tasted on the evening will have been specially selected by Jurica and Julie, and will not be revealed until the evening itself, however, they will include a Krug Grande Cuvée, Krug Rosé and Krug Vintage Champagnes.

Speaking today confirming details on the unique Adare Manor Krug Champagne Private Dining Evening, Jurica Gojevic, Head Sommelier at Adare Manor said:

“I am very honoured to be hosting this special evening with Krug Champagne.  At Adare Manor, we want all our guests to enjoy the very best we have to offer.  For the past two years, we have assembled one of the finest wine collections and cellars Ireland has ever seen, with over 650 exceptional wines from the world’s finest wine regions, which has received huge praise and admiration from guests to date.  We believe in constantly exceeding expectations and in doing so, we have partnered with one of the most luxurious Champagne Houses in the world to design this special evening. We have enjoyed working with Julie and the team at Krug to discover the perfect pairing for each of Mike’s special dining courses – it will truly be an occasion to remember”.

Julie Dupouy, Krug Irish Ambassador said:

“We are delighted to be partnering with Adare Manor and guests attending this special evening will have a unique opportunity to experience at first hand, the finest in fine dining and Champagne in one of the most captivating settings. Our bottles for sampling on the night will include Krug Grand Cuvée, a blend of more than 120 wines from ten or more different years.  Described by many as the most generous Champagne in the world of exceptional finesse.  We are looking forward to next month as we prepare to share with guests some of the finest Krug’s from our collection“.

Set on an 840-acre estate, Adare Manor in Co. Limerick is one of Ireland’s leading five-star castle properties.  The resort re-opened in November 2017 following an extensive restoration, refurbishment, and expansion programme over a 21 month period.  The largest restoration project of its kind in Ireland, the renovation, and expansion honours the building’s architectural heritage as a Neo-Gothic masterpiece while incorporating the latest in contemporary luxury. Most notably, the expansion included a new 42-bedroom wing, increasing accommodations to a total of 104 guest rooms, and a ballroom which can host up to 350 guests.  The riverside demesne is also home to Ireland and the UK’s 1st and only La Mer Spa, elegant fine dining facilities including at the luxury Oak Room restaurant, a championship golf course redesigned by award-winning designer Tom Fazio, trout fishing on the River Maigue and a host of other estate activities, including falconry, archery, and clay pigeon shooting, which will intrigue even the most experienced travellers.  Situated in the heart of picturesque Adare Village in Co. Limerick, Adare Manor is surrounded by medieval ruins, walled gardens and winding woodland paths and just 25 minutes from Shannon International Airport.
