Three Leading American Wine Houses come to Adare Manor wine tasting Independence Day Celebration
The 5* Adare Manor, recently voted ‘AA Hotel of the Year 2019’, the most prestigious prize in the Irish hospitality industry, is delighted to announce that they are to collaborate with three leading American Wine Houses, Domaine de la Cote, Pax Wines and Matthiasson for a Special Evening of wine tasting followed by a luxury fine dining seasonal menu on Sunday, July 7.
Taking place during the week of Independence Day, the event is an ideal opportunity to celebrate the American holiday at Adare Manor. Following the success of Adare Manor’s two-day luxury dining experience with Michelin Star Executive Chef Hywel Jones earlier this spring, world-renowned winemakers from Domaine de la Cote, Pax Wines and Matthiasson will travel from California to Adare Manor to co-host this luxury evening.
Jurica Gojevic, Head Sommelier at Adare Manor, said, “We are absolutely delighted to collaborate with world-renowned Wine Houses from California to celebrate Independence Day here at Adare Manor. It is an honour and a privilege to welcome Domaine de la Cote, Pax Wines and Matthiasson for an evening of the multi-award-winning Californian wine and also enjoy a wonderful locally sourced fine dining seasonal menu created by Mike and the team. A selection of the special wine on the evening is only available to Adare Manor in Ireland.”
“We have already received expressions of interest from guests wishing to attend our next special wine evening, which is proving to be very popular for wine lovers and food lovers alike, and we are pleased to be able to confirm the details now. The word appears to be spreading about our wine collection, which has been built up over the past two years. During that period, we have taken great care to create a unique collection of over 700 wines for our guests to experience and share our love for wines from around the world,” added Jurica.
The evening will commence with guests tasting a series of unique wines from the famous Californian regions of Napa Valley, the western edge of the Santa Rita Hills and Sonoma County. Guests will also get the unique opportunity to meet in person with Jurica Gojevic, Head Sommelier at Adare Manor, Sashi Moorman, owner of Domaine de la Cote, Pax Mahle, owner of Pax Wines, and Steve Matthiasson, owner of Matthiasson. These multi-award-winning wine experts will be able to share their experiences and the wonders of producing some of the most sought-after wines in the US.
Following the wine tasting, guests will be invited to enjoy a specially chosen seasonal menu created for the evening by Mike Tweedie, Head Chef of The Oak Room. This special menu will include Smoked Sturgeon, Salmon, Soy, Turnip and Caviar; Veal and Shiitake Mushroom Ravioli, Chicken Thai Broth; Glenarm Stuffed Saddle of Lamb, Pea, Mint, Morel; and Lemon Tart, with Fermented Raspberry. Jurica, Sashi, Pax and Steve have also selected a series of special wines, which guests may wish to pair with the evening’s menu. Wines chosen include Chardonnay Michele Mara vineyard, Mathiasson; Pinot Noir Memorious, Domaine de la Cote; Syrah Griffin’s Lair, Pax Mahle; and a Vermouth Matthiasson Cocktail.
The Special Wine Evening will commence at 6.00pm with canapés and the wine tasting. This will be followed by the luxury four-course menu to be served in The Gallery.
On behalf of Domaine de la Cote, Matthiasson and Pax Wines, Pax Mahle, said, “We have all heard about the reopening of Adare Manor and admire what the team have achieved and over delivered in such a short space of time. It is a great honour to visit Ireland and co-host this special event, along with Domaine de la Cote and Matthiasson and the Adare Manor team in the stunning surroundings of Ireland’s ‘Hotel of the Year’. The opportunity to celebrate our great American wine in Ireland for Independence Day weekend makes this event even more significant and memorable for us. We look forward to sharing our passion for wines with the guests joining us in July. Based on the special menu and wines chosen, the occasion is one we are all looking forward to very much”.
Tickets for the Special Wine Evening are priced at €95 per person. They are limited on the number of guests and recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.
