Moyross Community Centre celebrated the incredible milestone of 20 years of “dedication, kindness and constant support” from Aggie O’Regan.

Aggie has long been recognised as an invaluable asset to the community centre and the wider Moyross community thanks to her support and the lasting impact she has made on people in the area.

Moyross Community Centre praised Aggie’s efforts over the past two decades, saying, “We were honoured to celebrate 20 incredible years of Aggie O’Regan running our Friends & Neighbours group. Aggie has been a massive asset to our centre and to the wider Moyross community. Her dedication, kindness and constant support for our older citizens have made a real difference in so many lives.

“We also want to give a huge thank you to Theresa, who has worked side-by-side with Aggie and shown unbelievable commitment over the years. Ye have both done Trojan work, and we are truly grateful.”

As a token of the community centre’s appreciation, a special celebratory event was organised, and Aggie was presented with flowers. The centre has also announced that a plaque would be erected to “acknowledge Aggie’s outstanding commitment to the community”.

The day was made even more special thanks to the support of staff who stayed on to assist with the event, ensuring everything ran smoothly, and the day was capped off with a performance by The Rogues, who created an incredible atmosphere. A visit from Santa also added some festive cheer to the event.

Rounding off an incredible day, the community centre announced that everyone brought home a wonderful hamper.

The centre has also announced that a plaque would be erected to “acknowledge Aggie’s outstanding commitment to the community”.

Richard is a presenter, producer, songwriter and actor. He was named the Limerick Person of the Year (2011) and won an online award at the Metro Éireann Media and Multicultural Awards (2011) for promoting multi-culturalism online. Richard says that the ilovelimerick.com concept is very much a community driven project that aims to document life in Limerick. So, that in 20 years time people can look back and remember the events that were making the headlines.
