All Ireland Community Council Awards 2020 shows Limerick projects, which have been shortlisted for 10 awards including ‘Best Connected Council (Communication & Digital Marketing)’.
The awards highlight and celebrate the work done by the local authorities as well as volunteers and groups in our communities and recognise the important contribution they make to our lives.

This year more than 180 entries were received across 24 categories. Following a rigorous judging process over 100 projects nationwide from 23 counties were shortlisted for the awards ceremony, which takes place in Croke Park Stadium on 15 February 2020.

Cllr Michael Sheahan, Mayor of the City and County of Limerick said, “The LAMA Awards highlight the best of work that is being carried out by councils in partnership with local groups and organisations. The ten projects shortlisted for Limerick are a testament to the hard work and dedication of staff on both sides. The work being carried out as part of the projects is very important and have a significant impact on the respective local communities.”
Sean Coughlan, Deputy Chief Executive of Limerick City and County Council said, “I’m delighted that we have a total of ten projects shortlisted. The projects showcase the breadth of work that is carried out by Limerick City and County Council in conjunction with communities across Limerick.”
“It is important that these projects are recognised, as they help to forge co-operation and understanding between the local authority and community and voluntary groups. The main beneficiaries of these projects are the local people who will be able to avail of these services.”
The awards, which are in their 14th year, recognise and celebrate communities and councils working together. They are presented by IPB Insurance and Local Authority Members’ Association (LAMA).
