ALONE Charity Christmas Cards 2018

ALONE release a range of Charity Christmas Cards

ALONE, the charity that supports older people to age at home, has partnered with Kelly Cards to release a range of Christmas cards for the holiday season.

ALONE provides Housing with Support, Support Coordination, Befriending and Campaigns for Change to hundreds of older people every week, who are homeless, socially isolated, living in deprivation or in crisis.

The Support Coordinators work with the older person to address their immediate situation and when necessary link them in with the relevant services in the community. Staff maintain contact with the older person as required to ensure long-term solutions have been achieved.  Support Coordination can be contacted by concerned health professionals, social workers, Gardaí, community members, family members as well as older people themselves.

The Befriending service is designed to alleviate the negative impacts loneliness has on mental and physical health.  Volunteers are trained and supported by professional staff.  If the older person’s needs change, staff also work with them to coordinate the additional supports they need to age at home.

ALONE’s Campaigns for Change are designed to raise awareness about the challenges and issues that vulnerable older people face as they age.

The specially designed cards include images of Henry Clarke’s stained glass windows and winter scenes from Dublin’s Phoenix Park, among other designs. The cards are available in packs of eight each with a choice of one or two designs and retail at €9.50.

10% from each sale goes directly to ALONE to help support their vital services for older people this winter. The cards will be available in Dubray Books, Hodges Figgis, the National Gallery of Ireland, Hugh Lane Gallery and other assorted bookshops, galleries and gift shops nationwide.
