UL Aeronautical Society’s high-powered rocketry announce a stellar partnership with Analog Devices sponsorship
University of Limerick Aeronautical Society’s high-powered rocketry team (ULAS-HiPR) has received a boost as Analog Devices (ADI) announced sponsorship of the society, helping 35 students design, develop, and launch their own high-powered rockets.
The group of UL engineering students recently had a stellar experience in Europe’s premier competition for rocket design that brings together international university teams to advance space and aerospace technology.
The new partnership with Analog Devices aims to “support the innovative endeavours of the student-led team, advancing their mission to deepen the understanding of high-powered rocketry”, a representative for the company said.
Analog’s sponsorship has also been instrumental in enabling the team to procure components for its ULAS-HiPR’s Mach-24 rocket, the Morrígu, which made an appearance in the Mach-24 Conference which took place in Spaceport Machrihanish, Argyll, Scotland this July.
“We are incredibly grateful to Analog Devices for their support and collaboration,” said Karl Gilmartin, a member of the ULAS-HiPR team.
“Their commitment to our project has been invaluable, allowing us to pursue our passion for rocketry and bring our projects to the next level.”
The team’s first high-powered rocket, the Síonna, was recently launched in a demonstration during a visit to Analog’s ADI Catalyst facility in Raheen.
