Down Syndrome Limerick proudly welcomes internationally renowned IRFU referee Andrew Brace as an ambassador, with the role officially launching at the Down Syndrome Limerick’s New Year’s Eve Ball.
Recognised across the rugby world for his leadership, fairness, and passion for the game, Andrew is bringing that same spirit, energy and commitment to this role, helping to promote inclusion, opportunity, and celebration for people with Down syndrome in Limerick and beyond.
Andrew will officially launch his ambassadorship at Down Syndrome Limerick’s New Year’s Eve Ball, where he will help countdown to midnight and mark the beginning of an exciting chapter for the organisation.
Andrew said, “Rugby has taught me that teamwork, respect, and inclusion are what make the game great. The same is true in life. I am honoured to support Down Syndrome Limerick, and I’m excited to help champion their incredible work, starting with ringing in the New Year together.”

Down Syndrome Limerick is a family led charity based in Castletroy, providing early intervention, education, advocacy, and community programmes that support children and adults with Down syndrome as well as their families.
Michelle Coughlan, Chairperson Down Syndrome Limerick, said, “Andrew brings huge heart and energy to everything he does. We are delighted to have him join us and know he will help shine a light on the talents and achievements of our family members.”
The New Year’s Eve Ball is a black-tie celebration, featuring a prosecco reception, dinner, music, a glamorous countdown, and a special on-stage moment where Andrew will “blow the whistle” to welcome the New Year in style.
