Art event for three Limerick schools will be held in aid of Blue Box
An Art event for three Limerick schools, held in Limerick Institute of Technology (LIT) will take place for the children of Corpus Christi, Mary Queen of Ireland and Thomond primary schools will be held this coming Friday, November 27. The children aged between 4 and 8 in these schools have entered an art competition that we have set up, at this event the children’s art will be on display around the hall and the winners of the competition will be announced at this event.
The event will take place in the Sports Hub in Limerick Institute of Technology at 2:30pm until 6pm. At this event the children and their families will enjoy live entertainment, refreshments and there will be artists from Limerick School of Art and Design there to hold art classes with the children. This event will be a family fun day that will bring the communities around these 3 schools together, with live art performances and music on the day.
This event is in the aid of the Blue Box Charity based in Limerick, which work to help children with art therapy. The Blue Box Creative Learning Centre works with schools and families in Limerick City and environs. The initiative works to provide a safe space with trained Creative Arts Therapists who deliver a professional service. Their dedicated work with children aims to guide them through difficult times either in school or at home. All funds raised from the event will be donated to Blue Box.
Blue Box is currently promoting their #LoveTheBear campaign, encouraging people to take a selfie with their favourite bear, followed by texting the word ‘BEAR’ to 50300 to donate €2 to the worthy charity.
