Aslan Thomond Park Concert Expected to Sell Out

Aslan Thomond Park concert at The Plaza Marquee on June 25 this Summer is expected to be an incredible spectacle for their return to Limerick City. 

There was huge demand for tickets with sell out concerts in Dublin and Cork so it is expected that Limerick will follow suit with a sell out also.

Thomond Park Stadium in association with Linden Productions are thrilled that Aslan will come to The Plaza Marquee. A perfect venue situated beside the Dug Out Bar and will have full bar and food facilities. There will be limited seating also available. 

Aslan are from Dublin and was formed in 1982. Since then the band has released six studio albums. The band came from the working class areas of Finglas and Ballymun in Dublin’s Northside, in the mid-1980s. They released a demo single, “This Is”, in the spring of 1986 which was a hugely successful single on Ireland’s pop radio station, RTÉ 2fm.

Aslan’s infamous hit ‘Crazy World’ was brought back once again freshly to our screens after Christy collaborated with fellow Irish band Picture This. The song that was released in 1993 and became Single of the Year. The collaboration was recorded in February this year as part of Picture This video series ‘Traffic Jams’. It was received highly and shared among many local and national media outlets.

30 years in the Irish music scene, Aslan have toured the world having recently visited countries such as Germany and Touring Australia. Their albums have reached multi-platinum status, while their live shows are renowned for being excellent, particularly those in Dolan’s Warehouse in the late 90s and early 00s, which have gained legendary status.

Frontman Christy Dignam has battled cancer in recent years but thrives on playing with Aslan at the concerts and says he is “especially looking forward” to playing at the Plaza Marquee and performing for his Limerick fans as a way of thanking them for their loyalty and support over the years.

The band also recently posted on Facebook about their excitment for the upcoming gig, “Can’t wait for this gig . This will be our only gig in Limerick this year . See you there , Cheers The Boyz”

The talented singer and songwriter Adam Moloney will support Aslan at the gig. Young Adam has already released his new self-penned single “Wish Upon A Star”.
