Danieka and Jade McNamara decided that enough was enough when it came to the struggles facing families searching for services for children with Autism and decided to tackle the issue head-on. Danieka saw the struggle and stress Jade faced when searching for home tutors for her son. “There was no one to ask, nowhere to search and no official website that families could use to locate tutors and therapists”, says Danieka. “Jade’s experience searching for a tutor for her son was extremely stressful and upsetting as there was nowhere she could go besides social media, which is not a place a parent should have to depend on for their child’s educational needs”. Danieka a Law & Psychology graduate from the University of Limerick launched Autismservicesireland.com along with the help and advice from her sister Jade who is a Gymnastics Coach and who herself is a mum of a 7-year-old boy with Autism.

Autismservicesireland.com is Ireland’s first and only website that allows professionals who work with children with Autism advertise. Tutors/therapists can register and create a profile outlining their services. There is a small fee for professionals to register but is completely free for families. “It was extremely important that this service was free for families, as families are under enough pressure and stress locating services as it is”, explained Danieka. The aim of Autismservicesireland.com is to take the stress out of searching for Autism services and give control back to parents over their child’s educational and personal growth. “Parents should have a choice of tutor or therapist to work with their children and not feel pressured to take the first one that comes their way for fear of not locating another” Jade explained.
