Limerick City of Culture is looking for up to 500 volunteers to be at the heart of this year’s event.

24 April, 2014: Limerick National City of Culture has begun accepting applications for volunteers to help out at upcoming events. Up to 500 Limerick National City of Culture Volunteers will be recruited to be the face of the festival, helping to ensure that festival events are a fun, safe and memorable experience for audiences.

This year Limerick will be the national stage for a host of acts, arts and events from the best in local talent to internationally renowned artists performing in Ireland for the first time. Limerick National City of Culture aims to unlock and reveal Limerick’s cultural potential and YOU could be at the heart of the year-long festival!

Volunteer roles involve welcoming crowds, stewarding at events, ushering and offering information to festival audiences. There will also be a limited number of production and performance volunteer roles.

Mike Fitzpatrick, Limerick National City of Culture Director, said “This is a great opportunity to be at the heart of Limerick National City of Culture 2014. What better way to celebrate Ireland’s first National City of Culture than by volunteering and helping to make the year-long festival a fun, friendly and unforgettable experience for festival audiences.” Mike Fitzpatrick continued “Volunteers will be helping out at a host of exciting events including No Fit State, Proms in the Park, Culture Night, The Shouting Fence and more to be announced. Join the Limerick National City of Culture Volunteer team today and help us shine a light on all that Limerick has to offer!”

Limerick National City of Culture is looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers who are passionate about the Arts to help lift the lid on Ireland’s premier cultural venue in 2014. All volunteers will receive full training in advance of the programme.
