Best of Eurovision Irish Winners

Eurovision madness flooded the University Concert Hall recently and ILoveLimerick.com were there to capture All Kinds of Everything.
We exclusively went behind the scenes at the ‘Best of Eurovision” concert when it rolled into town with Savee Entertainment as part of a nationwide tour.
Presenter Leanne Moore certainly wasn’t asking “Why Me?” when she got the chance to chat with Ireland’s past Eurovision winners to tackle some burning questions including – Can Ireland ever win again?
Leanne caught up with her 2012 Eurovision mentor Linda Martin after their trip to Azerbaijan with Jedward in May and discussed the possibility of Linda making a return to Malmo in Sweden in 2013 to mentor another Irish entry.
Niamh Kavanagh talked about her infamous 1993 win with classic ‘In Your Eyes’ and reflected on her second attempt at the title in 2010 with her return to the European stage with “It’s for You”.
Paul Harrington gave us a little insight into what life is like as one half of Ireland’s “Rock n’Roll Kids” telling us all about performing with Charlie McGettigan again after so many years.
And we also sat to chat to Derry born Dana who lived up to everyone’s expectations as the ‘mammy’ of the group. The singer, now based in Galway, won the contest for Ireland for the first time in 1970.
And of course our Eurovision masterpiece would not have been complete without Mr. Eurovision himself – Johnny Logan.
Doing our best not to beg him to “Hold Me Now” instead we opted to get a fashion masterclass from the three time Eurovision winner live from his dressing room! And we can tell you – at 58, he’s still got it in bucket loads!
Johnny first won the contest in 1980 with the Shay Healy classic What’s Another Year. In 1987 his self penned classic Hold Me Now made him a winner for the second time whilst in 1992 Logan penned Linda Martin’s “Why Me?” scoring him a Eurovision hat-trick.
