Big brows messy hair makes blog waves

“My blog shows two sides of my world” and that it sure does. Jade McNamara is a Limerick based fashion and lifestyle blogger with a twist. Jade’s son Dylan was diagnosed with level 3 autism when he was just 2 and a half years old. Little did she think when she set up her blog “Big Brows Messy Hair” as a means of revisiting her passion for beauty and fashion after a tough year of hospital appointments and therapy sessions that she would soon merge the two contrasting sides of her world to form an informative and helpful yet fun and glamorous blog. Jade started up her blog at the end of summer 2015 making it not even a year old. Within its live months Jade has accomplished multiple collaborations with fashion giant Pamela Scott, been recognised on twitter by Callum Best and also got the opportunity to begin writing for an American digital magazine ModaChic for whom she currently writes a monthly column for. She is also currently doing a programme called “Results with Lucy” which is a 12 week workout programme designed by ‘The Only Way is Essex’ actress Lucy Mecklenburgh. Jade blogs her way through the workouts and in turn Lucy then shares Jades posts to her 14,000 twitter followers. This athletic trait in Jade’s life definitely stems from her past in gymnastics. She practiced gymnastics in Limerick City Gymnastics Club for 10 years and also made the Irish squad and represented Ireland in the Celtic cup.

Jade updates her social media daily with frequent posts showing her outfits of the day and what products she is currently loving. She tells me she likes to keep her in-depth and more descriptive posts for her website to a once a week schedule as Jade always wants to ensure her writing and research are as helpful and expressive as they can be.

While majorly projecting her interest in fashion and beauty across her website Jade also loves to help spread and raise awareness on autism and what living with a child who suffers with autism is like. Jade definitely acknowledges the messages she gets from other young mum’s whos lives are affected by autism and see’s each and every tweet, and snapchat as a major highlight in the blogging community. Jade loves the fact her blog is relatable and truly honest and I think we can all agree that sometimes in the blogging world truthfulness and relatable topics are sometimes omitted.

To furtherly raise awareness on autism and give back to the local organisations who have been there through Jade and Dylans journey she hopes to hold a fashion show in the Limerick Strand Hotel at the end of August.  Down the line Jade also tells me she would love to try her hand at guest speaking to again raise awareness on the mental condition which affects so many lives in a physically disguised manner. Jade wants to help people understand the condition more through her personal experience which she illustrates through blogging.

Judging on Jade’s positive personality there is no doubt her blog will go from strength to strength over the next few months and we can’t wait to see lots of new and fresh content bring her continued success!
