The single ‘Storm’ was created alongside Dylan Flynn, of Dylan Fylnn and the Dead Poets, with the track being mixed by Gavin Murray of the Dead Poets.

Dylan Flynn and the Dead Poets are a Limerick based indie-pop quintet who have been making a name for themselves since 2018. The group are known for their songs such as ‘Reoccurrence’, ‘You’ and ‘Mellow Green’. The group have also recently released a new EP with Clonmel based DJ Culla, titled ‘Like it Never Happened’.

The single ‘Storm creates a message to help the listener understand that there is not just a single side to our current pandemic, but rather two sides. The song mixes country and folk, with pop melodies. The opening of the song is captivating with powerful drums, followed up by heart-warming harmonies, and sparkling acoustic guitars that flow throughout the song. Given the current circumstances, it seems that now is a greater time than ever for such an inspirational song to be released.

Billy’s talent does not end with ‘Storm’ however, for the last six months, the solo musician has been working tirelessly on producing music and has released an amazing total of four singles which received significant feedback in that short time. Billy has also reached over 15,000 streams on music platform Spotify in just a month.

According to Billy, “The song title that I picked was the first word that popped into my head when I was trying to describe the way we are currently living. I’m hoping that the message behind the song can help shed some much-needed light upon people who are struggling right now. The reason for the up-tempo rhythm of the song was to highlight the brighter times ahead, rather than the darker ones.”
