Parliament Square fundraiser for the Blue Box

Brendan Markham artist in residence for The Blue Box Creative Learning Centre and lead singer of Parliament Square is organising a fundraiser at Cobblestone Joes, Little Ellen Street, Limerick on Thursday October the 23rd 2014 at 9 pm.

The band will be playing on the night and they will be supported by The Fall, The Trip, The Tumble. The event is in aid of The Blue Box, a Limerick charity that uses arts therapy to support Limerick city children and young adults to express themselves through music, art and dance.

Entry is free to the gig and there will be a raffle on the night which includes a pair of African Djembe drums. Donations can be made on the night or through the website at www.bluebox.ie. This amazing event will be full of excitement with plenty of prizes and plenty of music!

The Launch of the “Much Loved” Campaign will also be held that evening.  This Campaign is a social media campaign to raise funds for The Blue Box. The idea is based on taking a “Selfie” of you and your favourite Teddy Bear or loved object and sending it to The Blue Box Facebook and to your friends. Once you’ve done this you can then text BEAR to 50300, which will raise funds for The Blue Box.  More information will be given on the night!

The idea behind the “Much Loved” Campaign continues on from the “Much Loved” exhibition which took place back in September as part of Elemental Arts and Culture festival. The exhibition by award-winning Dublin-based portrait photographer Mark Nixon was hosted in collaboration with The Blue Box Creative Learning Centre.
