BNest workshop helps to explore a path to progress the social goals of the Limerick community

BNest, the first dedicated Social Enterprise Incubator Programme in Ireland is an initiative created specifically to support those who make a social impact. BNest is running a number of interactive workshops to help you explore the social enterprise space and to understand a little more of the possibilities it might offer you.

On Saturday, June 9, BNest will run a half-day BNest workshopcalled ‘Social Entrepreneurship – A Path for Me?’ at the Nexus Centre, University of Limerick. The workshop will offer anyone who has an idea or is already running a project that makes a positive social difference to come and learn what they need to fulfill their dream.

Based on the experiences from those who have contributed and participated on the BNest Programme, it gives you insights into the reality of social enterprise, using actual stories of local social enterprises in a practical engaged and hands-on manner.

BNest was born in 2016 after businessman Eamon Ryan saw a lack of support for businesses carrying about social impact as much, or even more, than the financial results –  and created the social enterprise incubator programme based at the Nexus Innovation Centre. Eamon runs the incubator with colleague and marketing consultant Kasia Zabinska.

Eamon said, “BNest is a social enterprise itself and it has been constantly evolving since we began our journey in 2016. We began as an incubator programme and we could only accept nine projects in our first programme but we felt we wanted to do something to help other social enterprises in the region too. Today BNest is not just an incubator as we also offer consultancy and networking services, run a volunteering programme giving professionals an opportunity to help others and also offer various workshops targeted specifically to businesses making a social impact.”

Kasia adds, “The Saturday workshop on June 9 requires no pre-work or even a hard idea you want to act on. Rather it provides a safe environment to learn something about what’s needed to succeed and to help you clarify your own options on your journey. We are sure that the stories of the local organizations will inspire you to take your dream to the next level.”

So, if struggling with a specific challenge in your project or just curious about social enterprise why not register? Light refreshments will be provided at the workshop. While the workshop is free, BNest is asking all participants to contribute €25 towards local charity Milford Hospice. ‘Social Entrepreneurship – A Path for me?’ half-day BNest workshop will take place on Saturday, June 9 from 10am-3pm at the Nexus Innovation Centre, University of Limerick.
