Major recruitment drive underway to double workforce and expand healthcare services in the Mid-West as Bon Secours Limerick is set to create 300 new jobs

Bon Secours Health System is creating 300 new jobs at its state-of-the-art private hospital in Ballysimon, Limerick, set to open its doors later in 2025.
This significant expansion, which will see the hospital double its workforce, will include a wide range of roles across several medical and non-medical disciplines, with a particular focus on nursing and specialised medical teams.
As part of the recruitment drive, the hospital is seeking skilled healthcare staff for a variety of positions to support its expanding services and the provision of quality care to a growing number of patients in the Mid-West region.
Jason Kenny, CEO of Bon Secours Hospital Limerick, added, “This new hospital is a major milestone for Bon Secours, and these new staff are vital to ensuring we can continue to provide the exceptional care that is our hallmark. We are looking for skilled professionals in a range of medical and health specialties, including nursing positions for our five theatres and both the surgical and endoscopy suites, a variety of roles associated with interventional cardiology and vascular, with cardiac, neuro and respiratory physiologists to name just a few. This recruitment drive reflects our commitment to meeting the growing healthcare needs of the region and providing world-class services in the Mid-West.”
The approximately 300 new staff will be in a variety of roles, doubling the hospital’s current workforce. Vacancies on offer will include a wide range of nursing positions, resident medical officers, resident surgical officers, resident anaesthetic officers. The hospital will also expand its teams in radiology, pharmacy, laboratory sciences and will introduce a new hospital access, diagnostic unit for GP referrals allowing for patient admissions if required ensuring comprehensive and high-quality patient care for the Mid-West region.
This recruitment drive marks a pivotal phase in the development of the new hospital, which will provide a broad range of medical services to meet increasing demand and is set to open in Autumn 2025.
