Limerick Hip Hop collective Boombox Nation to perform at Electric Picnic

Limerick Hip Hop collective Boombox Nation and Limeriockers Cru collective are bringing their community culture street jam experience to Electric Picnic at Stradbally Hall, Co.Laois from 1-3 September 2017.
They will also be showcasing their talent along with other groups this Saturday at Chez Le Fab at a special Boombox event.
The incredible Boombox Nation will be bringing all the elements of Hip Hop to Electric Picnic this year. They will be performing at the Hazel Wood Stage. Please come and support local talent if you are heading up to Stradbally for the festival!
Boombox Nation is a collective of like-minded individual co- founded by Tobi Omoteso and between them, they cover all the elements of Hip-Hop- from Dj’s(Turntablism), BBoys(Breakdancers), MC’s(Rappers) and Graffiti Artists. They are most passionate about the monthly community street jam held every month at Chez Le Fab, Aurthus Quay, Limerick City. The street jam is in collaboration with Limerick break dance crew “Limerockers Cru”, Local graffiti artist and voluntary committee. They hope to bring the 80’s NYC street party vibe to Hazel Wood this year, where they will have a live DJ(Turntablism) spinning and cutting the best hip-hop Tracks at the same time they have break-dancers showing anyone willing some few moves from “backspins” to “baby freeze”, graffiti artist also showing how to do a “wild style tag” which is sure to impress. They then end with a 15 min Break-Dance Performance that will leave you wanting more.”
Limeriockers Cru collective is a group of boys and girls covering popping, locking, and Michael Jackson Tribute Shows. They have been involved in numerous activities in Limerick City and throughout the country. These events include youth projects, club openings, shows, classes, workshops, parades, battles and more. The group have been dancing since 2003 and are experienced in the Irish underground Hip Hop scene.
There will be a special Boombox/ Street Jam Special Edition at Chez Le Fab on Saturday 26 August from 5 pm – 11:30 pm.
There will be a Crew VS Crew All-style Street Dance Battle, 1 VS 1 All-Style Street Dance Battle and 1 VS 1 MC Rap Battle or Showcase at the event.
