Organised by Bottom Dog Theatre Company, the event aims to raise vital funds to support the development of an exciting new theatre project recently backed by the Arts Council. While the project has received significant support, fundraising remains a key part of bringing the work fully to life.

“We didn’t just want to throw a standard table quiz,” says performer and producer Liam O’Brien

“We wanted to create a great night out.   Something full of personality, a bit of mischief, and a real sense of occasion – while also helping people feel part of something bigger.”

The quiz will feature a mix of clever questions, theatre and entertainment rounds, and plenty of surprises throughout the evening, making it accessible for casual quizzers and competitive teams alike.

“As a quizzer myself – our team Les Quizerábles, have been to every type of quiz going. So wanted to create one finally that ticked every box that we’d like to see at one!”, O’Brien adds.

“With Myles as MC this will also be different. It’s about connection, energy, and having a proper laugh with friends while supporting local artists.”

Tables of a maximum of four are available, and organisers are encouraging groups of friends, colleagues, and local businesses to get involved early, as capacity is limited. Individual attendees are also welcome and will be placed on teams, ensuring everyone can take part for the cost of a tenner

In addition to the quiz itself, the night will include a raffle packed with spot prizes sourced from local businesses, adding another layer of excitement to the event.

“We’ve had incredible support from people already offering prizes and spreading the word,” says O’Brien.

“That kind of community backing is what makes events like this work – and what makes Limerick such a special place to create theatre.”

“This project is something we really believe in,” O’Brien says.

“It’s ambitious, it’s local, and it’s exactly the kind of work we want to keep making, but we can only do that with support.”

The team is also calling on local businesses and individuals to contribute raffle prizes or help promote the event, highlighting the collaborative spirit behind the fundraiser.

With a lively atmosphere, strong community backing, and a genuine cause at its heart, the Table Quiz at 1314 is shaping up to be one of the most enjoyable nights out in Limerick this April.
