Brevato opens new Café on Thomas Street, Limerick City, bringing a deliciously different coffee and lunch experience to Limerick including their top-secret signature recipe schiacciata sandwich

Looking for a deliciously different coffee and lunch in Limerick? Brevato has opened the doors to its brand-new Café in Limerick city centre. Brevato coffee has grown from an elevated bean-to-cup offering, available in over 80 high-profile convenience stores and one Café in Dublin, to opening another Café now on Thomas Street, in Limerick.

As well as exceptional coffee, the Brevato Café in Limerick will serve up handcrafted schiacciata (that’s skee-ah-CHAH-tah), with a top-secret recipe developed exclusively for Brevato, and baked right here in Limerick by the local bakers at 061 Bakery.

What’s schiacciata you ask? It’s a crisp, Tuscan bread, with an airy centre that will be filled with a whole range of signature fillings including meats from local award-winning O’Connell Butchers right around the corner from the Café! Choose from Pastrami melt, Roast Calabrian Chicken, Roasted Aubergine and more.

Sinead Roche, local owner and operator of Brevato Café Limerick, said, “It is very exciting to be opening the doors of Brevato here in Limerick, offering our signature sandwiches made with produce from local suppliers, and paired with exceptional coffee from Brevato. The development of the food menu has been carefully considered and only the finest ingredients chosen to pair with our unique schiacciata bread. This Tuscan delight is the first of its kind in Limerick city and we are delighted to share this with our customers.”

This is an exciting development for the Roche family in Limerick who already own and operate a number of local businesses in the Limerick area.

Speaking to I Love Limerick about the country’s first Brevato Café being in Limerick, Sinead Roche said, “ We have just launched into food, and this is the first premises. So I’m very, very, very excited that it is in Limerick. And we have an amazing food concept to go with today. Italian bread, fresh produce concept.”

Speaking about her pride in Limerick, the Shanagolden native who is also owner of the neighbouring MACE on Thomas Street, said, “ All local suppliers, with our local butcher here, O’Connell Butchers, and 061 Bakery in Kildimo, we’re very excited; it’s a really, really good day for Limerick.

“ This building was unoccupied for 10 years, the Mace one beside me, and it took a lot for me to open it at that time. All our staff are local, and it’s their livelihood, and I think it’s really important that people go away with a good feeling and a welcoming feeling and a good value feeling as well.”

Opening a family-run business in Limerick City Centre is an important moment for the seven Roche siblings, with Sinead saying, “ I think Limerick is very special. I think we do food very well, and I think we need to understand that the people of Limerick love Limerick. I think it’s important to support it, and I hope we’ll do Limerick people justice as well.”

The new Café in Limerick is a bright, welcoming space for people to take a moment out of their day, whether it’s over a morning coffee with a friend, a relaxing breakfast or to enjoy a delicious lunch during their busy day.
