Short Business Description
Ians Trust is a charity that raises funds for to support families of children who suffer from ‘Acquired Brain Injury’. The trust was set up by Orla Cusack in memory of her son Ian who passed away on 17 August 2012 aged 9. Ian suffered from a very severe acquired brain injury following a road accident on the 25 September 2008.

The Trust provides support in many ways to families and loved ones with children affected by ‘Acquired Brain Injury’ from the time of their hospital stay and past. During Ian’s time in hospital and thereafter Oorla realised there were no support services available for those affected by acquired brain injury and wanted to change this and thus began the long journey of the formation of Ian’s Trust.

Once a child suffers from acquired brain injury their lives are changed forever. Between medical bills and the constant struggle for much needed medical equipment the financial strain on families is out of this world. The focus of Ian’s Trust is aimed at reducing in some way the financial burdens these families are faced with. By doing this they help children with acquired brain injuries reach their full potential and improve their quality in life.

Ian’s Trust holds a number of annual fundraising events for their cause. Ian’s Trust Valentines Cycle and the To The Moon & Back Cycle in Kilkee are just two of the fundraising events which raise awareness about acquired brain injury, generate much need money through fundraising and also encourage people to get active for a well worthy cause.

There are many ways to support Ian’s Trust from donating or fundraising to holding your own fundraising event or becoming one of Ian’s Bean Team. If you’d like to donate, register for events or would just like more information on Ian’s Trust you can visit their Facebook Page.
