The Mid-Western Cancer Foundation Butterfly Ball annual event is always a wonderful evening and is considered one of the high profile events of the Mid West area social calendar. The aim of the foundation is to provide holistic care for patients with cancer and support research in the Mid-West region. The Cancer Centre in Limerick provides a full range of services to patients with a Regional Specialist Breast Unit, Radiotherapy Centre and Palliative Care Services. Patients and their families can also avail of the Patient Information & Support Centre. These services are all critical to the people of the Mid West but need to be updated and expanded to accommodate the growing population and increasing number of patients with cancer in the Mid West. The money raised by the charity is used to better the Cancer Centre facilities and to make sure that the best treatment, services and cutting edge technology is available to cancer patients in the Mid West. The number of people who are being diagnosed in this region is increasing and continuing to increase. In the current environment they need your support more than ever. This years Butterfly Ball 2013 was held in the beautiful Limerick Strand Hotel and was a great success. Its their most important fundraiser of the year.
