The Butterfly Ball 2017 celebrates its tenth anniversary

This year’s very special Butterfly Ball 2017 takes place in September at the Radisson Blu Hotel and Spa, Ennis Road, Limerick, and marks the balls tenth anniversary.

This annual Butterfly Ball is crucial for helping the Mid-Western Cancer Foundation in its aims to complement and cooperate with the HSE in assisting Regional Cancer Services in challenges such as purchasing equipment, funding research and continuing education that is necessary to support our designated national cancer centre and to enhance the Mid-Western Cancer Centre at the University of Limerick.

Butterfly Ball 2017Tickets for the black tie event, which will raise funds for the Midwest Cancer foundation, are priced at €100 per person and this includes a champagne reception with the Dolmen String Quartet, a delicious four-course meal, gift bags and superb entertainment by HIYA events. There will also be music performed by DJ James Sexton and a hugely popular raffle and auction with great spot prizes up for grabs on the night.

The Butterfly Ball is considered one of the high-profile events of the Mid-West area social calendar, with all money raised going to benefit the Mid-Western Cancer Foundation.

The number of people who are being diagnosed with cancer in this region is increasing and will continue to increase. In the current environment, the Mid-Western Cancer Foundation needs your support more than ever to help them ensure the continuing management of patients with cancer.

The Mid-Western Cancer Foundation was established to streamline donations. Its aim is to provide holistic care for patients with Cancer and support research in the Mid-West Region. It was established by Professor R. K. Gupta, Consultant Medical Oncologist and Director of Cancer Services at the Mid-Western Regional Hospital, Limerick in 2007.

“The Foundation continues to receive donations from the people who have been treated in our Centre, and also their families and friends who have been affected by their experience. The presence of The Mid-Western Cancer Centre has enabled the majority of patients to be treated locally, thus remaining at home, with support from family, friends, and health professionals within the region. We are very proud of the service established here, which has always been well supported by the people of the region,” said Professor Rajnish Gupta.

This year’s Butterfly Ball 2017 will take place on Saturday, September 30 at the Radisson Blu Hotel and Spa in Limerick. Tickets can be purchased from Lisa Tracey in the Mid-Western Cancer Foundation office at 061 -210979 or by emailing [email protected]. You can also buy tickets on the Mid-Western Cancer Foundations website: www.mwcf.ie.
