Canopy of Comedy Club at Chez le Fab

Bringing you another night of crackin comedy on a Friday night in Limerick, and the best around with your host Ben Bernie, featuring Chris McShaneSean Marshall ComedyBreda Larkin, Mark OKeefe and Brian McCormack

CHRIS McSHANE

Chris McShane hailing from Cork City has been blazing a trail this year on the Cork comedy circuit. His languid style and hilarious observations have been bringing the house down in recent weeks, including our own Canopy of Comedy club last month. Chris has performed alongside Ross Browne, David McSavage, Fred Cooke & Pat McDonnell and has performed in the Cork Comedy Festival.

SEAN MARSHALL

Sean is an observational comedian who breaks the fourth wall, and draws the funny from the normal day to day chore of being a middle aged atheist human obsessed with aliens, health, fitness and the need to do stupidly dangerous things.

Has performed support at the Frog and Bucket (Manchester), Comedy Crunch, Comedy Cellar, Hardy Har, Spirit Store, Chaplins, Roundy Laughs, CoCo Club, Róisín Dubh, Comedy at the Vintage, shortly headlining Craic Shack Wewbridge, and doing a full show in Edinburgh this year

BREDA LARKIN

Breda Larkin is a rising star of the comedy scene in Ireland, scooping a win at this years Show me the Funny. She’s played all the major festivals and will feature in the line up on the main comedy stage at Electric picnic. Breda’s a unique queer rural voice who loves singing odes to the Vajayjay and discussing life on the farm. She has supported Karl Spain in the past and has shared the stage with PJ Gallagher, the Lords of Strut and many others as well as starring in a documentary for RTE about moving statues.

MARK O’KEEFE

Mark has gigged from Ireland to New Zealand and everywhere in between for the past four years – performed all the worst open mics and drunk bar shows from Canada, South East Asia, New Zealand, Australia and finds himself now back home in his native Cork because he ran out of visas

BRIAN McCORMACK

Writing and performing as a Stand-Up Comedian in comedy clubs in Ireland since 2013, as well as MC for UL Comedy Society, Brian has done support slots for:
Andrew Stanley (resident MC at “The Comedy Cellar”, RTÉ’s “I Dare Ya”)
Eric Lalor (Joe.ie, RTÉ’s “Joy In The Hood”, Irish Stand-up of the year 2011 & 2012).
Kevin McGahern (Republic of Telly)
Patrick McDonnell (Father Ted)
Neil Delamere (The Panel, Next Weeks News, Holding out for A Hero, etc.)

Brian has guested/co-hosted/produced on the ULFM radio show, “Republic of Radio”.

In July 2014 he founded and organised the “Ryan’s Comedy Night”, with the aim of providing a monthly comedy night in Ryan’s bar, Kilkenny City; featuring comedians from the Irish comedy circuit.

BEN BERNIE (MC)
Ben Bernie is from a privileged backround. He’s better than you. He comes from money, and money follows money. He’s gigged all over Ireland, Germany, the U.S. and the Edinburgh fringe festival, he’s also a finalist in the Irish Comedian of the year competition. Join him as this Friday’s host, and you’ll be disgusted by him and feel sorry for him almost simultaneously!

Friday 10th August | Doors 8pm | Show 9pm. Tickets only €5 online | €7 on the door

Richard says that the ilovelimerick.com concept is very much a community driven project that aims to document life in Limerick. So, that in 20 years time people can look back and remember the events that were making the headlines.
