Following almost a decade of service, Limerick Chamber says goodbye to its events and communications manager, Caoimhe Moloney, who is taking on a new key business role for the midwest region with Shannon Region Conference and Sports Bureau as the group’s General Manager.

Caoimhe has been instrumental in shaping Limerick Chamber’s event management and communications since joining the team in April 2016, during a period where she has overseen the introduction of key initiatives, including the Digital Member Pack, a valuable suite of tools and resources for Limerick Chamber members.

Her work extended across hundreds of events, as she collaborated with multiple CEOs and presidents during her almost 10 years with the chamber, making her an important figure in the development of the Liemrick Chamber over that period of time.

On the news, Limerick Chamber CEO Michelle Gallagher told the Limerick Post, “It’s bittersweet for the Chamber as Caoimhe has been part of the team for over nine years. She has grown so much during that time and contributed significantly in the member journey. She will be missed. But equally, we are thrilled for her in the new role, as it is a real opportunity for her to go outside her comfort zone, leverage her MBA – and I know she will make a huge contribution to the region in her new remit.”

With an academic foundation in Business Studies and Event Management from the Limerick Institute of Technology, enhanced by specialised certifications in leadership and digital marketing, Caoimhe has distinguished herself through innovative leadership and strategic foresight.

As she moves to her new role, Caoimhe will contribute to the region’s standing as a premier destination for meetings, conferences, and sporting events. She takes on the General Manager role following the departure of Karen Ronan, who took on the position of Galway Chamber CEO in April 2025, following 22 years of service with Shannon Region Conference and Sports Bureau.

Michael MacCurtain, Limerick Chamber Skillnet Network Manager, shared a heartfelt farewell message for Caoimhe following her final day with Limerick Chamber. He said, “Wishing Caoimhe All the Very Best on Her Next Chapter. After nearly a decade of service, delivering hundreds of events, working with several CEOs and Presidents, and the wider Limerick Chamber community, it’s time to say a heartfelt thank you and farewell to our fantastic colleague and friend, Caoimhe Moloney. While we’re sad to see her go, we’re excited for what’s ahead. Caoimhe, you’ve made an incredible contribution, and you’ll be greatly missed. Go raibh míle maith agat from all of us and the very best of luck in what comes next!”
