Excitement is building as the esteemed Cappamore Agricultural Show is back and better than ever after two years of absence due to Covid-19. The Agricultural Show will take place this Saturday, August 20 in Ballyvoreen. The show has been running annually since 1954, with this show being the 66th in its history.
The events of the day will kick off at 10.30am with ‘show jumping, judging of cattle and judging of horses’. The Cappamore Show will be packed with family events including dog shows, magic shows, cookery demonstrations, face painting and a dancing display by Pauline Hynan Dance School.
The Liam McCarthy Cup will be on display and an array of small local businesses will have stalls on site. Irish country singer Molly O’Connell will perform to wrap up the day at 3.30pm. There is also an online raffle for show attendees to enter, with a top prize of €1,000.
Admission fees for the Cappamore Show are €15 for adults and €12 for pensioners and students (with valid ID). Children under 12 attend free of charge.
Fans of the Agricultural Show from near and far shared their enthusiasm online at its return, with one Facebook user commenting, “It’s great to see the place looking so well, best of luck with preparations.” Another show-goer described the anticipation as “unreal”. Free shuttle buses to the show will be available on the day from Cappamore, Doon and Murroe. Free parking will be available opposite the show grounds.
