CARI (Children At Risk In Ireland) is a leading voluntary organisation that provides child-centered specialised therapy and support to children, families, and groups affected by child sexual abuse. The CARI foundation is a registered charity that has two full-time centres one in Dublin and one in Limerick.  The Limerick Centre serves the whole of the Munster region.

At the CARI Family Fun Day 2017 , there will be a variety of stalls and Children’s Entertainment including Bouncy Castles, Obstacle Course & Wrecking Ball & Disney Characters, face painting and hair braids.

The very popular CARI Bric a Brac stall will be on site with a huge range of children’s toys books and lots of bric a brac for the public to look through.  There will be an array of Food and Drink available including The CARI BBQ, Ice Cream supplied by Shannon Ices, Tea/Coffee and Cakes. Stalls include health and beauty, children’s clothes, toys and lots more.

UL Medical students will be hosting their Teddy Bear’s Hospital which was very popular amongst the children last year. Our Teddy Bears Hospital is a fantastic chance for all the kids to meet the doctors who are currently training in UL. This gives the children a personal chance to talk and interact with the doctors and hopefully if they require a visit to the hospital it will make them more comfortable.

There will also be indoor races like the Egg and Spoon, three-legged race, sack races, Tug of War, huge inflatable toys and sumo suits and arts and crafts table for the kids to express their make and do side.

Musical Entertainment will be provided by The Boherbuoy Band and The Comhltas Band with Irish dancers and the fame factory dance school putting on dance routines for the public to enjoy.

CARI helps those who have been affected by abuse and supports them during their recovering process, working to ensure that child sexual abuse is seen as an experience but not a defining event in the child’s life. The foundation gives children a safe environment filled with hope, trust, and confidence, which lead them to a path of recovery through therapy. The non-profit organisation has been shining a light for children for over 25 years. CARI Family Fun Day Fundraiser.
