Catriona O’Donoghue appointed president of Network Ireland Limerick

Network Ireland Limerick, the forum for women in business, the professions and the arts, has elected Catriona O’Donoghue as President for 2019. The Sales & Marketing Manager for Get West and Escape Limerick was presented with the chain of office by outgoing president Valerie Murphy.  Petrina Hayes, Savoy Hotel has been confirmed as Vice President of Network Ireland Limerick for the year.

Speaking about her appointment, Ms O’Donoghue said, “For me, the presidency is an incredible opportunity to give back. Being in business can be isolating and challenging at times and, oftentimes, family and friends struggle to relate to your experiences. By joining Network Ireland Limerick, I gained an incredibly supportive network of women who have been there to share in both the challenges and successes of my own business journey.”

As President of the Network Ireland Limerick, Catriona will be responsible for fostering the aims and objectives of Network Ireland, representing the Limerick branch at National Executive meetings and overseeing the smooth running of monthly events locally. It will be an action-packed year for the Network as Ms O’Donoghue also intends on introducing additional events and activities so that “members further expand their network and forge deeper connections with one another”.

Looking forward to her year as president, Ms O’Donoghue said, “It is an incredibly exciting and progressive time in Limerick. For women in business, the professions and the arts, we all have the opportunity to be brave and ambitious and to forge out very rewarding businesses, careers, collaborations and lives for ourselves in the Mid-West and, it is my belief, that we are best placed to achieve this together.”

“As I firmly believe we are stronger together, I want to keep building on the incredible work that the presidents before me have done in terms of building relationships with other organisations in the wider business community, including LEO Limerick and Limerick Chamber, as well as with other Network Ireland branches. This will give our members an opportunity to broaden their network, build collaborative partnerships and expand their outlook.”

“I also want to increase awareness of the other benefits that come with being a member of Network Ireland; from our free Mentoring for Success Programme to the opportunity of profiling your business by entering the Businesswoman of the Year Awards, to attending events for free across 15 branches,” she concluded.

Membership of Network Ireland Limerick is made up of a very diverse group of women from across the Mid-West, from budding entrepreneurs, SME owners, professionals and leaders in large organisations to non-profits, charities, arts and the public sector.
