Ceiline O’Meara, a proud native of Caherconlish, Co. Limerick, has been selected to represent the United Arab Emirates in the 2025 Rose of Tralee International Festival

Currently based in Dubai, primary school teacher and accomplished musician, Ceiline O’Meara, is making history as the first ever UAE Rose, a title that honours the vibrant and growing Irish community in the Middle East.
Ceiline, who is a past pupil of Milford N.S, Castletroy College and Mary I, is currently on a career break from her teaching position at Scoil an Spioraid Naoimh in Roxboro.
Now working in a school in Sharjah, an emirate adjacent to Dubai, she has embraced a dynamic lifestyle that balances her professional career with her passions for music and modelling. A talented harpist and pianist, Ceiline has brought traditional Irish music to international stages.
She performs regularly at high-profile events across the UAE, including most recently, the prestigious Dubai World Cup.
“Music has always been at the heart of who I am. Being able to share Irish culture through music in a place as diverse as the UAE is such a privilege,” she said.
An active member of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann in the UAE, Ceiline continues to promote Irish heritage abroad and will return to Ireland this summer to perform at the All-Ireland Fleadh in Wexford. In addition to her musical accomplishments, Ceiline is making waves with her modelling career.
She began modelling in 2018 with the Celia Holman Lee Agency and has since collaborated with renowned brands, most recently with luxury jewellers Cara Jewellers in Dubai. Her fashion journey includes runway appearances, television features (RTÉ, Virgin Media) and cross-cultural campaigns.
Ceiline’s love for the Rose of Tralee runs deep. Having attended the festival annually with her family during summers in Kerry, she always dreamed of being a Rose. “To be chosen as the first UAE Rose is incredibly special.
It means so much to represent not only my home country, but also the amazing Irish community that thrives here in the Emirates.” Ceiline will travel to Tralee in August to take part in the internationally renowned festival. We wish her every success as she embarks on this exciting journey.
