Sister Helen Culhane, founder of Children’s Grief Centre said, “This day is very important for us because in April we are going to be moving into our new Children’s Grief Centre, so having a fundraiser on International Women’s Day is really exciting because we can celebrate women and also the fact we will be moving into our new Children’s Grief Centre.”

“It’s very exciting, it’s exciting for the children of the Midwest and especially for families out there who are grieving at this time, knowing that there is a service going to be there.”

Children’s Grief Centre will benefit from an International Women’s Day event fundraiser called ‘Women in Wellness’, which will see some of Limerick’s amazing female representatives from the Wellness Industry take to the stage at House Limerick.

The event to celebrate International Women’s Day, will take place on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at House Limerick and will be MC’d by I Love Limerick’s Richard Lynch.

Sister Helen Culhane, Children’s Grief Centre told I Love Limerick, “This day is very important for us because in April we are going to be moving into our new Children’s Grief Centre, so having a fundraiser on International Women’s Day is really exciting because we can celebrate women and also the fact we will be moving into our new Children’s Grief Centre.”

“It’s very exciting, it’s exciting for the children of the Midwest and especially for families out there who are grieving at this time, knowing that there is a service going to be there.”

Speaking about the people who Sr Helen meets through the Children’s Grief Centre, she said, “Initially when we meet the children, whether it’s separation, divorce, or bereavement, of course, the children are sad or very upset. But with support from our support workers within the Children’s Grief Centre, it makes a huge difference, not alone to the children but also to the parents.”

The day will also include a raffle and brunch followed by “Speeches and Chats” panel discussions with Women in the Wellness Industry, including one of Ireland’s top influencers, Louise Cooney, with author and broadcaster Meghann Scully, interior designer and stylist Chloe Markham, and blogger Michelle McNulty.

Limerick born digital creator and social influencer Louise Cooney said she is, “very excited to be taking part in a Women in Wellness event for International Women’s Day”.

“There will be some great panel discussions on the day. It’s going to be a great, empowering, fun day out so I hope you can get some tickets and join us,” she said.

Richard Lynch, I Love Limerick said it is an honour to MC events such as these, and especially one that helps an organisation like Children’s Grief Centre:

“Being asked to MC this event is an amazing honour, International Women’s Day is such an important day for everybody, and to show that by supporting a service like the Children’s Grief Centre demonstrates that.

The service they offer is unbelievable, they offer grief-counselling services to children who have lost someone or who are going through divorce, so to help such an incredible service while celebrating the amazing women in Limerick and the world will make such an incredible event”

The Jo Malone and Estée Lauder Team from Brown Thomas Limerick will also be joining on the day.

Tickets are €30 which includes Brunch & a drink on arrival, available from Eventbrite.

The event takes place on Sunday, 12 March 2023, 13:30 – 17:00
