Children’s Ombudsman to visit Limerick Youth Service on November 8

Limerick Youth Service is delighted to announce that the Children’s Ombudsman, Dr. Niall Muldoon, will visit Limerick on Wednesday next, November 8th at 1pm.

The visit will give young people an opportunity to speak with the Children’s Ombudsman about issues that are relevant to them such as access to education, youth homelessness or mental health.

As part of his visit, Dr. Muldoon will have lunch at LYS’s Community Training Centre and speak with trainees who are studying with LYS.

Afterwards the Children’s Ombudsman will venture north of the Shannon to LYS’s Northside Youth Space, Ballynanty, where he will again spend time speaking with children and young people.

‘The Ombudsman’s visit is a great opportunity for young people to raise any concerns or queries they have with him,’ said LYS’s Siobhan, Wilmott.

‘The office of the Children’s Ombudsman was created in 2004 to promote the rights and welfare of children and young people and is a voice for young people at government,’ explained Siobhan, Youth Mental Health Worker.

Young people can meet Dr. Muldoon at LYS’s Community Training Centre, Lr. Glentworth St, Limerick City or the Northside Youth Space, Ballynanty.

Alternatively teenagers can email or text their questions to LYS’s Youth Information team at [email protected], text 083-1726898 or contact any of our social media accounts: Facebook, Twitter, SnapChat & Instagram.
