Limerick Milk Market announce their Christmas Limerick Milk Market 2016 – 10 days of Christmas.

This year we launch the series with a late Christmas Food Producers evening 5pm to 9pm in the Milk Market which will run in partnership with the Limerick Food Group, sponsored by Local Enterprise Office Limerick, a voluntary collection of Limerick people passionate about promoting Limerick Food Produce. The Christmas Market Lights will be switched from 5pm the December 15 by Mayor Kieran O’Hanlon with a host of festive fun and free entry for all the family to enjoy! Christmas Hampers will be available over the full Ten days from selected Traders. The night will feature a range of Food Producers some with origins around the world but who now call Limerick home bringing you the finest dish inspirations based on ingredients home grown in Limerick. Give the Gift of Limerick Food this Christmas with your very own Custom made hamper for that special someone! Fest your eyes on local cheese, vegan produce, Limerick drinks, delicious hot dishes to go, gluten free sweet/savory and more.
Friday, December 16 will feature a Christmas Transition Year Enterprise Market in partnership with Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Limerick and an amazing local company WizzKids.ie 10am to 3pm with up to a dozen local schools showcasing the latest in Student innovation projects with prizes for the best product/project team. Also featuring a Primary School Choir from our local St Michaels and many local Craft/Food vendors. There are three generously sponsored prizes for this event Best Innovation Sponsored by MAST Ireland, Best Student Business Team and Best Student Display with the latter two prizes sponsored by Permanent TSB Limerick. “The students have been participating in the Student Enterprise Programme, which is a national initiative delivered by the LEO Limerick aimed at fostering an entrepreneurial culture among our young people. The Student Christmas Fair will give the students a great opportunity to get in front of real customers and will give the public a chance to bag a bargain!” Heather Supple of LEO Limerick.
Saturday, December 17 we have the Famous Food Market Christmas Edition 8am to 3pm with Christmas stockings full of seasonal cuisine and treats from your local food producers. Minced Pies, Puddings, Christmas Hams Chestnuts, Brandy Butter, Christmas Deserts/Baked Goodies and least not forget some good old sprouts from our seasoned vegetable traders will be at the ready for all to enjoy and savour! Lyons of Limerick Ford will make a guest appearance with a special treat for all to be dazzled with as you enjoy the culinary treats of the Market. Permanent TSB Limerick will be here on hand with some special gifts to make your Christmas Shopping more enjoyable.
Sunday, December 18 will feature a Christmas Craft and Fashion Fair 11am to 4pm with up to 50 Handmade Craft, Fashion, Artists, Horticulture, Photographers and much more to give that someone special the best gift of all. A unique gift of Limerick making! The Redemptorist Limerick Choir will be here to entertain with some festive cheer.
Monday 19 to Thursday 22, Twilight Fair lit markets from 5pm to 9pm with an eclectic mix of Seasonal Food, Christmas Crafts, Choirs and Festive Fun! Best of All Free Entry.
Friday, December 23 we have a late evening version of our Famous Christmas Food Market so if you can’t make it into us for your supplies of Farmers/Artisan Seasonal Supplies on Saturday Christmas Eve 24, the majority of the Saturday Food Traders will be settling in for some Friday Trading 1pm to 9pm so you won’t miss out on your vital Christmas Foodie supplies. We have an extra special Treat this year with an affordable photo with Santa Experience Friday 23 Dec 3pm to 9pm. For €5 you can get a picture with a special Limerick Santa in the red chair at the Milk Market. 100% of the money raised will be donated to help fund Limericks own hero’s at Limerick Suicide Watch (LSW) who will be here during evening to provide information on the voluntary vital work they carry out.
