Limerick’s Cian Lynch and his partner, Dayna Slattery celebrate the birth of their twin boys

Limerick hurler, Cian Lynch, would have experienced a whirlwind of emotions this past week as he balanced the joys of becoming a father with the demands of playing an elite sport.
Dayna gave birth to twin boys on Saturday, June 29, the two announced they were having twins on social media, and the couple received hundreds of messages of congratulations, with many saying “exciting times” and “such a blessing” encouraging the couple to “enjoy every minute of it”.
Cian and Dayna announced that they were expecting twins together back in May. Announcing the news on social media, the five time All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship winner shared a snap showing off Dayna’s baby bump as they enjoyed a lazy day together. He could be seen with his hand resting on her growing belly.
Dayna simply said: “When two become four” when she confirmed that the tots were born on June 29. The picture included two blue heart emojis, hinting that the babies are boys. However, Cian and Dayna didn’t confirm their sex or their names.
Just one week after the birth, Cian was back in action with Limerick, putting on the Treaty jersey to take on Cork in the All-Ireland Hurling Semi-Final. Although the day didn’t pan out as hoped, the couple’s joy and pride of entering parenthood comes as beautiful news to them, and their families, and all Limerick supporters.

The little ones arrived into the world ahead of Limerick’s crunch All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship semi-final against Cork. For the first time since 2019, the Shannonsiders lost at the penultimate stage.
The couple made the announcement on Instagram on Monday, July 8. Cian reposted a picture from Dayna’s Instagram as the young couple introduced the twins to the world. The GAA star can be seen leaving the hospital with baby carriers in each hand in a touching, beautiful black-and-white photo. The caption said, “When 2 became 4.” Cian shared the image to his more than 50,000 followers with the message, “Home time”.
Everyone at I Love Limerick wishes Cian and Dayna a life of health, happiness, love, and beautiful memories with their twin baby boys.
