Limerick’s Ciara Brennan to Showcase plant based dishes at Trio of Festivals

Limerick chef Ciara Brennan is taking her plant-based skills and knowledge on the road this autumn with a trio of cookery demonstrations in Ennis, Dingle and Limerick.

The founder of Happy Food at Home, a plant-based bespoke catering and pop up enterprise, has been invited to take part in the Clare Food & Drink Fleadh, Dingle Food Festival and Limerick Pigtown Food Series of events.

Having become vegan in 2015, Ciara shares the lifestyle with many A-List stars including former professional chef and Hollywood actor Matthew Modine who was a Happy Food At Home customer when he was based in Limerick in 2018 filming “The Martini Shot.”

Ciara said, “All of my dishes are plant-based with as many ingredients as possible locally sourced and preferably organic.  I am often asked for advice on what products to buy and where it is available and look forward to sharing the details of my favourite suppliers as well as inspiring people to enjoy plant-based food.”

Since its inception in 2016 Happy Food at Home has gone from strength to strength with its colourful market stall popping up in various locations throughout Co Limerick and Co Clare, including the Limerick Milk Market and Ennis Farmers’ Market.  Dishes feature tasty meat-free staples such as the carrot and almond quinoa burger with a variety of sides –  seasonal salads, red rice pilaf and pad thai are popular regulars for lunchboxes.

As an enthusiastic advocate for the plant-based diet, Ciara is regularly found sharing her recipes on local radio and at cookery demonstrations.

She will travel to Ennis for the Clare Food & Drink Fleadh this Saturday 28 September and to Kerry on Sunday, October 6 to make an appearance on the last day of the Dingle Food Festival. On Saturday, October 12, as part of the Limerick Pigtown Food Series of events, she will take to the demo stage upstairs in the Limerick Milk Market where her original and anchor stall can be found in the Little Top Café.
