Cliona Hagan to take on her first-ever panto role this Christmas as the Fairy Godmother in The Specsavers Limerick Panto Cinderella at UCH

This Christmas, Specsavers Limerick, Robert C Kelly, and University Concert Hall Limerick are excited to present “Cinderella”, the most magical Pantomime of them all.
Multi-award-winning country music artist Cliona Hagan will tread the boards as she steps into her first ever pantomime role. Cliona Hagan said, “I am beyond excited to be playing the role of ‘Fairy Godmother’ in this year’s Cinderella! It was a childhood dream of mine to be a Fairy in a pantomime, and I can’t believe it’s actually happening! I can’t wait to sprinkle some fairy magic and see you all there!”
Cliona will join this year’s amazing cast, which includes RTÉ Jnr star John Sharpson, Limerick’s legendary dame Myles Breen, and Voice of Ireland winner Keith Hanley, along with returning favourite Esther Brady as “Cinderella,” and Limerick panto newcomers, Chris Currid and social media sensation Stuart Mackey.
Can a shoe change your life? Brought to life by the same brilliant creative team behind last year’s hit Mother Goose, including writer and director Debbie Kiernan and choreographer Jody Ennis, Cinderella is bursting with hilarious jokes, dazzling costumes, and chart-topping hits.
Get ready to boo, hiss, and cheer – oh yes, you will! – in this perfect festive treat for the whole family.
Sinéad Hope, the Director of UCH, said, “We’re excited to celebrate the 14th year of our legendary Panto. This tradition has become a holiday favourite, bringing families from Limerick, the Midwest, and beyond together for an unforgettable experience.

Panto is a beloved family tradition, and with Cinderella, we promise an even more magical experience for all ages. We can’t wait to welcome you to this year’s spectacular production!”
University Concert Hall, in collaboration with Panto sponsor Specsavers Limerick and Panto Producer Robert C Kelly, has developed Panto For All, a heartwarming fundraising initiative designed to make the panto as accessible as possible.
This project offers children and families from the Midwest region the chance to attend UCH’s panto free of charge. It is open to all charitable organisations and groups supporting underserved families and individuals across the region.
Earlier this year, Specsavers Limerick and University Concert Hall (UCH) were nominated for the Business to Arts Awards 2025, Creative Access Award for Panto For All.
The initiative has already welcomed more than 430 people from charities and community groups across the Midwest in 2024.
