Cliona’s Foundation hosted a moving and inspirational Resilience and Resolve Breakfast at The Strand Hotel, Limerick, on Thursday, January 29th.
This annual breakfast, now in its third year, featured a powerful panel discussion with psychologist David Coleman, champion jockey Davy Russell, and broadcaster Meghann Scully, who each shared their personal journeys of resilience and overcoming adversity.
The morning also included a deeply touching address from David Crowe, father of Sarah Crowe, who bravely shared the story of his daughter’s battle with Alpers disease. His heartfelt words on honouring Sarah’s memory through open conversation left the audience deeply moved.
Attendees left the event feeling inspired and uplifted, having gained valuable insights into the strength of the human spirit. Cliona’s Foundation extends its sincere gratitude to all speakers, guests, and supporters who contributed to making the morning a meaningful and memorable occasion.
speaking ahead of the event Brendan Ring, CEO of Cliona’s Foundation said it was a “wonderful opportunity” for people to come together, offering the chance to “learn from remarkable individuals, and support an incredible cause.”

Speaking about the panel of guests, he noted they represent “the strength, determination, and resilience we see in the families we serve every day”.
Cliona’s Foundation continues its vital work supporting families of children with life-limiting conditions, ensuring that no family faces their journey alone.
Since its launch, Cliona’s Foundation has raised more than €4.5 million and has supported over 1500 families across 31 Counties. Some of the costs covered by the donation to a family vary from rent, food, utility bills to transportation for chemotherapy or alternative therapies, to a treat for a sibling and even covering the cost of a child’s funeral.
