Clionas National Bag Packing Day – Volunteers needed at your Local Dunnes Stores this August and September

Cliona’s Foundation National Bag Packing Day is returning nationwide across 80 Dunnes Stores

Cliona’s Foundation is partnering with Dunnes Stores, who have very generously agreed to support Cliona’s over the coming months, in a nationwide initiative, which is a bag packing event (Project Pack) across over 80 stores in the 26 counties of Ireland.

Cliona’s Foundation is a Limerick-based charity that provides financial assistance directly to parents of children with life-limiting or chronic complex care needs across Ireland to help with the non-medical expenses related to caring for their child. The foundation was set up by Brendan and Terry Ring following the death of their daughter Cliona, from an inoperable brain tumour in 2006 aged 16. Since its launch, Cliona’s Foundation has raised over €1.7 million and has helped more than 600 families in 29 counties. From the 120 families that the charity hopes to help this year, 81 will benefit from this bag packing event. Cliona’s Foundation covers a range of expenses from rent, food, utility bills to transportation for chemotherapy or alternative therapies, to a treat for a sibling and even covering the cost of a child’s funeral.
