The Crescent Shopping Centre was buzzing with festive cheer as the iconic Coca-Cola Christmas truck made a stop at the city’s shopping centre
The Coca-Cola truck made its much-anticipated stop at the Crescent Shopping Centre as crowds in their droves braved the cold to have their picture taken with the iconic modern Christmas symbol.
The event, described as one of the biggest attractions ever hosted at the Crescent, filled the shopping complex with music, entertainment and a dose of nostalgia for the hundreds of people who came to the event.
Speaking I Love Limerick’s Richard Lynch about the event, Brian O’Leary, Crescent Shopping Centre Manager was grateful for the support people have shown the Crescent this year, he said, “Firstly, we’d like to say thank you very much for your continued support and secondly, we would like to say have a fantastic Christmas to you and your family and wonderful time!”
The enthusiasm of attendees saw people line up around the block for their chance to get close to the iconic truck and its signature holiday branding which many said brought back childhood Christmas memories and was an event suitable for people of all ages.
Eimear Dwan, Marketing Manager of the Crescent Shopping Centre, shared her excitement over the truck’s visit, saying, “It’s amazing, and we’re just really happy for the nostalgic Coke truck to be here today.”
Dwan also highlighted the variety of activities available, noting that the shopping centre had become “a hub of activities” with live music and festive entertainment including games such as Pass the Parcel, ensuring a memorable experience for everyone.
Christmas is now in full swing at the Crescent which has pulled out all the stops this festive season which saw a world record broken by Kate Healy raising funds for St Gabriel’s, and a turning on of the Christmas Lights ceremony with Irish Olympian, Sharlene Mawdsley bringing hundreds to the shopping centre to meet their sporting hero.
The following week saw the big man himself arrive at his Candy Wonderland grotto where Santa is now taking visitors for what promises an enchanting experience for children and families alike.
Also adding to the festive feeling is a mural painted by Limerick’s PJ Harnett which makes the perfect place for a photo opportunity for the family while enjoying Ireland’s largest shopping complex outside of Dublin this festive season.
