Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board’s College of Further Education and Training, Mulgrave Street Campus has announced the return of its popular Arts Festival, now entering its fourth year.

This year’s programme promises a vibrant and ambitious celebration of creativity across some of Limerick’s key cultural venues, showcasing the work of emerging talent in Visual Art, Photography, Film, Theatre and Fashion.

The festival opens on Wednesday, 14th May with a Visual Art and Photography Exhibition at the People’s Museum of Limerick, featuring a diverse and thought-provoking collection from up-and-coming artists. Highlights include a striking series of ceramic pieces inspired by Limerick’s architecture, blending craftsmanship with a strong sense of place.

On Wednesday, 20th May, the festival moves to Belltable, Limerick for an evening of film screenings, where audiences can enjoy original short films and animations created by learners. Earlier that day, Belltable will host a hands-on acting workshop, giving participants the opportunity to develop performance skills in a professional theatre environment.

The festival concludes on Thursday, 21st May with a Fashion Show reception at the Hunt Museum. Set against one of the city’s most iconic backdrops, fashion learners will present innovative and contemporary designs, bringing the week-long celebration to a stylish finale.

The College of FET, Mulgrave Street Campus Arts Festival is an inclusive celebration of emerging talent, offering learners a valuable platform to present their work publicly and connect with wider audiences. The public is warmly invited to attend, experience the work on display, and support the next generation of artists and creatives.

All events are free and open to all.

LIMERICK CITY GALLERY OF ART

PEOPLES MUSEUM OF LIMERICK

Richard is a presenter, producer, songwriter and actor. He was named the Limerick Person of the Year (2011) and won an online award at the Metro Éireann Media and Multicultural Awards (2011) for promoting multi-culturalism online. Richard says that the ilovelimerick.com concept is very much a community driven project that aims to document life in Limerick. So, that in 20 years time people can look back and remember the events that were making the headlines.
