College of Further Education and Training Mulgrave Street Campus will host a new Arts Festival which will showcase the campus’ vibrant art, film, fashion, photography, animation, and music this May 25-26.

Organised by Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board, the event will foster creativity, critical thinking, and personal development of talent at the campus.

The College of FET Arts Festival will bring together learners, departments, and emerging artists from various disciplines to share their artistic vision and express themselves through their unique perspectives.

Attendees of the festival can expect a rich cultural experience with the festival kicking off with the official opening at the Belltable Gallery on Thursday, May 25th at 7 pm.

One of the highlights of the festival is the visual art exhibition titled “Faces of Limerick” at the Belltable Gallery featuring more than 150 mixed media portraits created by Art Craft Design learners.

For film lovers, on May 25, screenings at the Belltable Theatre Cinema feature some of thought-provoking films and documentaries produced by FET attendees.

The festival also includes a fashion show at the Belltable Gallery on Friday, May 26 at 1 pm where learners from the Fashion Design and Textile Portfolio and Dressmaking course will showcase some creative and innovative designs.

Music lovers can enjoy a music showcase at the Belltable Theatre from 2 pm to 3:30 pm, featuring talented singer-songwriters and musicians such as Ben Munro, Thomas O’Halloran, Odin, James Glennon, and LENNZ.

Additionally, there will be podcasts produced by Journalism learners, exploring social issues at the heart of Irish society, covering topics such as racism, the Special Olympics, and personal struggles.

The College of FET Mulgrave St Campus Arts Festival promises to be an inspiring and engaging event, celebrating the diversity and vibrancy of the arts produced by the talented learners on the campus.

College of FET Mulgrave Street

Richard is a presenter, producer, songwriter and actor. He was named the Limerick Person of the Year (2011) and won an online award at the Metro Éireann Media and Multicultural Awards (2011) for promoting multi-culturalism online. Richard says that the ilovelimerick.com concept is very much a community driven project that aims to document life in Limerick. So, that in 20 years time people can look back and remember the events that were making the headlines.
