The Irish Cancer Society announced the first Colour Dash for Limerick. The event will be held at 12pm on Sunday 24th of August in University of Limerick, Co. Limerick. Colour Dash Limerick is the third Colour Dash location announced this year, adding to Dublin and Cork.  The event is set to sell out quickly following the popularity of the first ever Colour Dash last year. The unique five kilometre ‘dash’ will see participants of all ages running, walking or jogging the course. ‘Dashers’ will start the route wearing a white t-shirt that is quickly transformed into a colourful work of art. At each kilometre, a different colour – representing a different cancer – of powder paint will be thrown at participants, creating a kaleidoscope of colour.

“I am so happy that we are having our first Colour Dash event in Limerick in August. I was at the Dublin event last year and it really was a fantastic day out for all involved. I know this fun event will go down well in Limerick.” said Eileen Kearney, Community Fundraiser Limerick, Irish Cancer Society. “The Colour Dash will raise funds for the Society’s work  but it also encourages people to get out and fight back against cancer in a fun way, as well as getting active – improving fitness and contributing towards a healthy lifestyle – which as we know helps reduce the risk of cancer. We hope to see lots of people from all over Limerick come and participate in the event representing the four most common cancers, prostate, breast, bowel and lung, and of course celebrating cancer survivors.”
