Minister Collins congratulated the successful groups, saying, “Each of these projects will have real impacts in our community, particularly disadvantaged areas, and I am delighted to support their work in the Department in my role as Minister of State with Responsibility for Youth Justice.

“Youth justice is a key focus as Government tackles crime and anti-social behaviour, reflected in the significant additional funding I secured of €7.3 million in Budget 2026 for the area.

“It is imperative that we continue to fund projects in the area to give young people at risk of becoming involved in a life of crime the best chance of pursuing an alternative path.”

The €4.4 million announced in total funding across Ireland represents a 33 per cent increase on the €3 million awarded in 2024, and the fund will support 42 community safety projects across the country.
