Cook Medical hosts discussion on doing business in the Mid-West to mark MedTech Week

‘Celebrating MedTech in the Mid-West’, is a business breakfast hosted by leading Limerick-based MedTech company, Cook Medical.

The event to mark European MedTech week (June 4-8)  will bring together local businesses, elected representatives and the IDA to discuss doing business in the Mid-West and the initiatives that continue to position the region as a vibrant place to do business globally.

The event takes place on Wednesday 6 June at 8.30am in the Savoy Hotel, Limerick.

Speakers on the morning will include Bill Doherty, Executive Vice President of Cook Medical EMEA; Enda McLoughlin, Regional Manager Mid-West Ireland, IDA; Darach McGrath, Director of Global Research and Development, Vascular Division, Cook Medical and Orla Borthwick, Programme Manager, Action Plan for Jobs Mid-West.

Topics for discussion include the MedTech industry in Europe and Limerick, the impact of the MedTech industry on the Irish and local economy and innovation and developments in the healthcare space. More broadly, speakers will also discuss the business eco-system in the Mid-West and the potential investment needed to attract more businesses to the region.

The discussion will be moderated by Laura Ryan, Head of Communications for Limerick City and County Council.
