Cook Medical, a leading MedTech company based in Limerick, is hosting ‘The KUBE’ charity event in aid of the Mid-Western Cancer Foundation on Saturday, April 1 at 8 pm in the South Court Hotel, Limerick.

Angela Moloney, Finance Director at Cook Medical, explains why the company is delighted to host this local fundraiser. “Cancer is a disease which unfortunately affects many of us either personally or through its impact on family and friends. Cook Medical is acutely aware of this and therefore proud to support the work of the Mid-Western Cancer Foundation. The Foundation undertakes outstanding work in caring for patients through an information and support centre, in the research it conducts in the area of cancer and cancer treatment, and by funding the local oncology ward.” Angela herself is joining the fun for this great cause and is preparing to enter ‘The Kube’ on the night, as attendees at the event bid money to go head to head with her in a ‘Beat the Boss’ challenge.

The founder of the charity Professor Sanjeev Gupta, a consultant medical oncologist and regional director of services at University Hospital Limerick, said:

“We are delighted and honoured that Cook Medical has chosen the Mid-Western Cancer Foundation as the recipient of the money that will be raised by The Kube. The Foundation, your local cancer charity, would be grateful for your support of this exciting event that Cook Medical has kindly organised and look forward to seeing you there.”

Recent figures released by the Irish Cancer Society indicate that by 2020, 1 in 2 people in Ireland will develop cancer during their lifetime. As Ireland’s population matures, the work of voluntary organisations such as the Mid-Western Cancer Foundation is vital in supporting patients and their families through their treatment. At Cook Medical we work closely with healthcare professionals to deliver products designed to help diagnose cancer more efficiently. We also provide products to clinicians to support their patients during various stages of their treatment.

“The KUBE is a wonderful and fun way to raise funds to aid the remarkable work of the Mid-Western Cancer Foundation and we are encouraging as many people as possible to get involved. Cook Medical would also like to take this opportunity to wish Professor Gupta and his team all the best in their future endeavours,” said Angela.

In order for ‘The KUBE’ to be a great success, and achieve its aim of raising €30,000, it needs the public’s help. Cook Medical is asking businesses and individuals alike to support the event. Cook Medical KUBE event
