Cook Medical Womens Mini Marathon 2019 brings near 3,000 together

Almost 3,000 participate in Cook Medical Women’s Mini Marathon 2019

Cook Medical Womens Mini Marathon 2019 brought almost 3,000 women from across Limerick and Ireland together on Sunday, 29 September.

Starting at University Limerick Sports Arena, participants of all ages and abilities came together to run, jog and walk the 5 km and 10 km courses, with some raising funds for charities in Limerick, the Mid-West and nationwide.

First to cross the finish line of the 10 km race was Niamh Moore from Leevale Athletic Club and was followed closely in second place by Lauren Dermody, with Ann MacPhail in third place.

The event brought great excitement and fun to Limerick as families and friends gathered to celebrate at the finish line.

Angela Moloney, director of Ethics & Compliance, EMEA at Cook Medical said, “At Cook Medical, our work is centered around patient care. John Cleary, Race Director said, “I’m delighted to see the turnout of this event grow every year. The mini-marathon is a great opportunity for women to get involved in the local community, and it’s encouraging to see so many women getting out and active.”

 Niamh Moore, Leevale AC, Cork City, finished in first place of the 10 km race, while Lauren Dermody, Castlecomer AC took second place and Ann Macphail, Donneen AC came third. 2019 marks the 21st year of the race and the 4th consecutive year of Cook Medical’s title sponsorship, with further sponsorship confirmed until 2021.
