Artist Aisling Burke O Connor is to open a new exhibition of her paintings, Coup D’ Oeuil, in The Peoples Museum of Limerick on March 1st

The Limerick-based artist is unveiling Coup D’ Oeuil ( At a glance) in The Blue Room of The Peoples Museum of Limerick, No 2 Pery Square from March 1st until March 10th.
“Coup D’oeil”, a new exhibition by Aisling Burke O’Connor, explores how a glance or glimpse can evoke deep emotional responses, shaping sensory perception.
The work examines the link between these fleeting visual impressions and the visceral changes they induce, driven by the autonomic nervous system.
Drawing influence from the Sardinian – Corsican massif and the mythic allure of Atlantis — an imagined place of lost beauty and civilisation — along with universal memories of summer — sunny days and blue skies — the artist taps into shared experiences to evoke emotional resonance. Building on themes from her previous exhibition, “Perspectives”, which drew on visitor feedback that the paintings triggered emotions akin to childhood memories, “Coup D’oeil” continues the exploration of how such universal images shape our inner world.
