The Irish Aerial Creation Centre will celebrate its 10th anniversary with an unforgettable performance at the Creative Intensive Show on Saturday, December 6

The Irish Aerial Creation Centre brings the Creative Intensive Show to Limerick audiences on Saturday, December 6 to mark its milestone 10th anniversary. Not to be missed, the event will awe audiences with an unforgettable performance from 14 aerial artists who have spent three weeks developing their skills at the centre.
The Creative Intensive provides a unique opportunity for both national and international artists to come together, experiment, and push the boundaries of aerial performance under the guidance of the Irish Aerial Creation Centre.
Hannah, an aerial artist at the Irish Aerial Creation Centre, said the programme gives artists the chance to work at a “really high level” with experienced mentors.

She told I Love Limerick, “ The Creative Intensive is almost like a gathering point for artists, both internationally and nationally, to come together, work with really high-level and experienced mentors who guide them through a creative process.
“You’re trusting yourself in the air. You’re trusting the people around you to support you against gravity. And on the 6th of December, they all share the hard work that they’ve been putting in for three weeks with the public. It’s really nice to get some feedback and just share processes and ideas that people have been working on.”
Charlotte, one of the centre’s artists, shared her excitement at being choreographed by her best friend, Hannah. She said, “ I’ll be performing this year. However, it’s my best friend’s idea, who will be choreographing me, and I’m really excited to take part again. The show basically showcases what artists have been working on for the three weeks, and the work that they created with incredible tutors, and just having this amazing space to create and learn and grow.”
Hannah reflected on the supportive environment created at the Irish Aerial Creation Centre and between her and Charlotte, saying, “ I’m sure it’s going to be quite emotional having gone to college together in the Irish World Academy and then transitioning here to the Irish Creation Centre. I had an idea that I really saw Charlotte in, so now I’m paving a way, with the help of Chantel, to enter into a role as maybe a director or choreographer.”
The two-hour performance will feature a variety of aerial disciplines, including silks, rope, trapeze, cocoon, and vertical dance from 14 aerial artists, giving the audience the opportunity to see the product of the intensive three-week programme. Charlotte noted, “ It’s such a unique form and I’m so grateful to be a part of this community.”
Tickets are €5 for adults or €15 for a family and are available on the Irish Aerial Creation Centre website.
