The Limerick Arts Office is calling on communities, arts groups and cultural organizations across Limerick to help make Culture Night 2016 the biggest and best ever.

A programme of events for Culture Night Limerick 2016, which takes place on September 16th next, is being compiled and those planning to participate in the annual initiative are asked to submit details of their free event by Friday 8th July, which is the deadline for brochure listings.

A record 80 plus events took place in Limerick last year over a five hour period from 5pm until 10pm, highlighting the rich and multi-layered cultural scene in Limerick and showcasing local talent.

Limerick City and County Arts Officer and Limerick 2020 Bid Deputy Director Sheila Deegan said: “Culture is all around us and what better way to celebrate than Culture Night.  It’s a great way to introduce culture to a new audience and re-connect with old friends.”

“The Limerick 2020 bid process has shown us what a wealth and depth of culture Limerick has to offer, so let’s help make Culture Night Limerick 2016 the best ever,” Sheila added.

Culture Night is supported by the Department of Regional Development, Rural Affairs, Arts and the Gaeltacht in partnership with Limerick City and County Council and Limerick 2020 Bid and local authorities throughout the island of Ireland.

Listings forms are available at www.limerick.ie/council/culture-night-limerick-2016-call-out and should be returned to artsofficesubmissions@limerick.ie or Limerick Arts Office, Limerick City & County Council, City Hall, Merchant’s Quay, Limerick, on or before Friday 8th July 2016.
