Organisers of this year’s Curraghchase 10km 2021 are calling on the people of Limerick to partake in the Virtual event which consists of a 10km walk, run or even a swim!
Sponsored by Westward Ho, the virtual event is running for the entire month of June and is encouraging people to get out into nature and get moving.

The community have also decided to organise an ‘Activity Month’ to mark the events ten-year anniversary
The Curraghchase 10K involves completing the distance through any means – walking, running, cycling, swimming or even rollerblading. #TakeCareOfYou is the slogan for this year’s Curraghchase 10K.
The community have also decided to organise an ‘Activity Month’ to mark the events ten-year anniversary.
The idea of the Curraghchase 10km is to support local mental health charities, including Funds raised will be donated to Pieta House, Limerick Mental Health Association, Jigsaw Limerick, ASD Ireland, Limerick Marine Search and Rescue, Limerick Alzheimer Society and Community Crisis Response Team.
This year marks the first year of the Curraghchase 10km where children’s jerseys will be available to order, making this the perfect family event.
All funds raised from the event will go directly to the named charities.
The Curraghchase 10K started as a local parish event 10 years ago, however, as the years went by, the numbers continued to grow as people outside the community began to take part in the event in the scenic Curraghchase forest park.
Committee member, Darragh Collins, explained that over the years, the 10k has supported charities like The Children’s Ark Unit, Pieta House, Enable Ireland, TLC4CF and Frontline organisations. Darragh explained how the event was normally run in August each year, but the committee responded to the needs of Frontline workers last May as Covid-19 swept through the country.
We are delighted to be selected as one of Curraghchase's selected charities for the virtual 10k run/walk!
Your support is invaluable to us.
