Dalata Cycle Maldron Hotel Limerick gives warm welcome for cyclists arrival

Dalata Cycle Maldron Hotel Limerick gave a  warm welcome for the arrival of cyclists. The inaugural ‘Great Dalata Cycle 2018’ in aid of CMRF Crumlin saw a number of Dalata Hotel Group employees cycle over 1,100km throughout the island of Ireland and is part of Dalata’s wider charity initiative Dalata Digs Deep. The cyclists arrived at the Maldron Hotel where the McCarthy Cup was waiting to greet them. Cycling team of Great Dalata Cycle 2018 in aid of CMRF Crumlin arrived in Limerick and received a warm welcome at the Maldron Hotel.

The cycling team, established by employees of Dalata Groups arrived in Limerick at Maldron Hotel yesterday, September 11, which was an eventful day with mixed weather and even a puncture.

A warm welcome was given by the staff group of Maldron Hotel Limerick and the Mayor of the City and County of Limerick, Cllr James Collins.

Joe Quinn, the Group Operations Manager of the Clayton Hotels at Dalata told ilovelimerick: “We decided to go around the country by bike over eight days for fundraising. We got five done and we received warm receptions in every city we have reached. So far we have raised 36,000 pounds for the project  and we really appreciate people’s generous donations and we are glad to be here in Limerick.”

 

The bike ride, which will see a number of Dalata Hotel Group employees cycle over 1,100km throughout the island of Ireland, is part of Dalata’s wider charity initiative Dalata Digs Deep. Dalata Cycle Maldron Hotel Limerick gives warm welcome for cyclists arrival.

Mayor of Limerick, Cllr James Collins delivered his warm welcome to the Dalata cycling team.

“Well done, Dalata cycling team! I’m delighted to welcome the Dalata employees and their fundraising efforts for the Crumlin Children’s Hospital. I think it’s a fantastic initiative and a great cause. The cycling team is halfway on their journey now. We just want to give them a warm reception here in Limerick. ” said the Mayor.

The cycle began on Friday, September 7, 2018, from Dalata’s Maldron Hotel, Dublin Airport. From there, the team aimed to travel 170km to Belfast beginning their 8-day cycle which would see them visit a number of the Group’s Clayton and Maldron Hotels along the way. The route takes them through Belfast, Derry, Sligo, Galway, Limerick, Cork and Wexford before finishing on Friday, September 14, in the Clayton Hotel Ballsbridge, Dublin.

Valerie O’Neill, General Manager of Maldron Hotel Limerick said “We just welcomed Dalata cyclists to Limerick. We are absolutely thrilled to have them here. They have done amazing work for Crumlin Children’s Hospital. We are all delighted to be involved. ”

The Liam McCarthy Cup also arrived at the Maldron Hotel to celebrate the progress of the Dalata cycling team.

Cyclists are continuing their journey for fundraising and they are leaving for Cork today.
